Departmental Activities 2017- 2018

1.     7th  July2017 – Zoology Association Activity - Arranged a Guest Lecture on “ Scope of Zoology in Higher Education” by Dr. Mrs. V. Subhashini,   Head Department of Zoology, KBN College Vijayawada. 



2. On 24th July, 2017 organised A One Day State Level Work Shop On “ECOLOGICAL DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS” in collaboration with IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Resource persons: Dr. P. Ramachandra Prasad IIIT Gachibowli HYD and Dr. Sr. P. Japamalai HOD Zoology Department Maris Stella college Vijayawada.


3.     10th August 2017 – Organised A One Day State Level Seminar on “Shape your future with Clean and Green Environment” in collaboration with AP Pollution Control Board, Amaravathi. 
Resource Persons:  Dr. B. Madhusudana Rao, JCEE, APPCB, Vijayawada,
 Dr. G. Devala Rao, Principal, K.V.S.R.Pharmaceutical College, Vijayawada.

    


  Release of brochure &Posters on usages of  Eco-friendly materials for Vinayaka  Chavithi on 23rd August 2017 in collaboration with APPCB,  Amaravathi Chief Guest: B. S. S. Prasad, IFS, APPCB, Amaravathi.

5. August 24th2017, Organised an awareness rally on Eco-friendly use of materials such as Matti Vinayaka, natural colours and safe disposal of the statutes on the eve of Vinayaka Chavithi.  


 6. Distributed freely leaves (21 varieties) for worship along with 200 Matti Vinayaka Idle.
              



       

7.  The Bio Club conducted various competitions to commemorate World Ozone Day on 7th September 2017. Competitions such as Essay writing, Elocution, Drawing and Painting, Poster presentation, Best Slogan and Logo preparation.


8. Encouraged students to present papers in a regional level seminar organised by St. Joseph’s College, Tenali, Guntur. Ms. M. Deepika,  M.Sahithi III B.Sc. CBZ won a cash award of Rs. 250 and got the third prize on 12th September 2017.



9.  Guest lectures on cluster electives – Medical Diagnostics by Mr. Vijaya Kumar, Lecturer in Bio-Chemistry, Thammineni institutions of global paramedical sciences.

2013 – 2014       ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES & GUEST LECTURES The Department of Zoology, Maris Stella College organized a guest lecturer on “Trace elements in daily life” by Dr. SriKumar., Ph.D., Department of Physics, Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada on 27 th  November, 2013                         The Department of Zoology   organized programme on 31 st  November, 2013 .The programme    was arranged in view to educate the young girl to become aware of  HIV/AIDS  and its related issues and how to save their lives.
