Learning outcomes:
·      Students learn to use kitchen wastes to make biomanure
·      They generate income by selling biomanure
·      Students are able to identify the heat resisting varieties of earthworms
·   They become aware of the difference between chemical fertilizers,   organic and Bio manures
·   They create a clean and pollution free environment and adopt eco   friendly techniques.

Unit - I
Importance of Vermitechnology – Advantages, Chemical fertilizers, Organic fertilizers, Economic evolution, Differences and Comparison between Vermicompost and Chemical fertilizers.

Unit – II
Sustainable development and Environmental activities, recycling of Organic wastes, methods, techniques, Biology of Red Worms, types and required physical parameters.
Unit – III
Vermicomposting, principles, practice and process, application of biomanure to different crops and constitutes of biomanure.

Unit – IV
Management of Biomanure plant, construction of Compost beds, Management techniques, systems of Vermicomposting, Marketing methods, Economics of compost production, Planning or project and Cost.

Objective of the course: To provide skill based education to make them entrepreneurs.
Learning outcomes:
v  Students imbibe skills along with knowledge.
v  They learn about different varieties of ornamental fish and their rearing techniques.
v  They can generate income while being house wives.
v  Within limited space they can set up their own firms.
v  They gain knowledge of marketing skills.

Unit - I
Introduction to Ornamental Fish Culture, Export Potential, Current Status, Importance and Advantages, Different varieties of commercially important ornamental fishes, identification characters and their trade names.                                                                              4 hrs

Water quality management and maintenance, color, temperature, transparency, PH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, total hardness, salinity,Construction of home aquarium: wall, bed, filling up the tank, lighting, stocking, aquatic plants, other requirements-hand nets, gravel, pebbles, sea plants, gums, filters-mechanical/biological/under gravel chemical, aerators-air lift pump, air store, cleaning and maintenance of aquarium.                                                                               8 hrs
                                                                                                            
Unit - III
Food and feed management in ornamental fishes, feed preparation, feed formulation and feeding rate. Different kinds of feed, live feed and dry feed. Culture of fish food organisms, Breeding habits: Choosing breeding stock, Breeding of egg layers, live bearers, spawning care, care after spawning.                                                                                                                                   12 hrs
